The commonly used raw materials can be divided into the following categories:

① Solid carbon raw materials. ③Binder and impregnant. Mainly include coal pitch, petroleum pitch, synthetic resin, lubricant and low melting point alloy.

④ Modified additives. Mainly include coal tar, shallot oil, iron oxide and stearic acid. In addition, some auxiliary materials (insulation materials, fillers and resistance materials) are also used in the production of carbon materials, such as metallurgical coke, petroleum coke, carbon black, quartz sand, and river sand.
