Unit consumption of electrode paste

Pubdate: 01-04 2022

Carbon equipment products Carbon paste products can be divided into two categories, one is conductive materials (such as electrode paste and anode paste); the other is used as bonding fillers for building carbon blocks (such as bottom paste, coarse seam paste) And fine seam paste).

Electrode paste, electrode paste is an important consumable conductive material for the production of calcium carbide and ferroalloy, and it is a kind of “self-baking electrode” in terms of its properties. At present, the mine thermal electric furnace consumes about 45kg of electrode paste for every ton of 75% Si-containing ferrosilicon produced, and about 30kg of electrode paste for every ton of calcium carbide produced. The main raw materials for the production of electrodes are anthracite, metallurgical coke, coal and coal pitch, which can be divided into two categories according to different formulations:

1) Standard and non-standard electrode paste: Standard electrode paste is mainly used in open ferroalloy furnaces and small and medium-sized calcium carbide furnaces, using medium temperature pitch as the binder; non-standard electrode paste is mainly used in large open calcium carbide furnaces, and its dry material particles The composition is the same as the standard electrode paste, but in order to appropriately increase the sintering speed of the electrode paste, a small amount of tar is added to the medium temperature pitch as a binder.

2) Airtight paste: this type of electrode paste is suitable for airtight chopping iron alloy furnaces, calcium carbide furnaces and other metallurgical furnaces. The airtight paste uses anthracite as the main raw material. In order to improve the sintering performance of the electrode paste, a small amount of broken graphite and petroleum coke must be added, and a binder with a low softening point must be used.
